Crown & Anchor now ‘de-shacked’ to become a proper pub
Shackology became the latest casualty of the High Road this week after its operators threw in the towel. In a farewell letter to customers, Sheila MacKenzie wrote, “Long, long ago we dreamed of a place where people could call in to eat and drink delicious things, buy a few treats and generally lounge around in a friendly and cool space. Last year the dream came true and The Crown & Anchor became the home of Shackology. “We’ve sure smoothed out a lot of wrinkles along the way, but we never did quite "fit" with our building. The Crown & Anchor really only ever wanted to be a "proper" pub and so it is to be reborn as just that. (It is being de-Shacked as we speak.)” They are currently looking for a more suitable site to shack up in. The site has reopened as the Crown & Anchor under new management.
