Chiswick mum and actress, Angela McHale, has become one of the “Great Eight” to reach the finals of the PTA Volunteer of the Year for her dedication and commitment to Southfield Primary School Parents and Staff Association.

The PTA Volunteer of the Year competition is a Gold Star award run by PTA-UK, WWW.PTA.ORG.UK- a national organisation which supports PTA’s throughout the UK. The competition is open to all schools primary and secondary and the volunteer can be a governor, staff or PTA member.

Southfield Primary School is a local state school with over 500 pupils and a diverse ethnic mix of pupils from Chiswick and Acton. Angela is the only London finalist.

To help Angela gain the recognition the school feels she deserves she still needs votes to www.surveymonkey.com/s/VOY2014.

The voting closes at 3pm on 21st May. Only one vote is possible per computer, laptop, tablet, phone etc.

Angela's nomination states that her "commitment to Southfield Primary School and the SPSA is exceptional. Her dedication is such that she reduced her hours of paid employment in order to spend more time in her voluntary role.

"Angela’s energy is boundless, her enthusiasm infectious. She leads from the front and takes everyone with her in her tireless quest to support the School in both practical and creative projects. She has modernised the SPSA to a point where local businesses compete to sponsor events!

"Angela, the SPSA Treasurer, the Headmaster and Business Manager work together tirelessly to ensure funds are spent according to the school’s vital needs, such as 90 laptops recently purchased".
