Following 2 defeats Tara Juniors finally got their first win under their belts against visitors Erin go Bragh of Birmingham.

Erin go Bragh were missing many of their more experienced players and to their credit had a large number of Under 16’s but Tara also had 3 under 16’s, relatively new to the game, all of which managed to make the score sheet.

From the off Kate Brennan playing centre-forward had a fantastic game and knotched up 5 goals. Captain Sinead Collins, ably assisted by Aimee Curtin, controlled the midfield area and the Tara forwards piled on the pressure throughout the first half, going into the break with a great lead.

Several changes were made for the second half, including Kate Brennan moving into goal and this gave the Under 16 forward line of Coleen Ryan, Julie Curtin & Orla McCormack the chance to take their scoring opportunities, which they did. Erin go Bragh were also able to take their two scoring chances through Liz Daly’s free. Sinead Collins managed to score 1-1 from the midfield area the Tara girls finished outright winners at 15-1 to 1-1.

Good performances throughout and apart from the aforementioned players, Laura Shirram, Sarah Macken and Mags Howard, on her return from having a baby also excelled.

Squad – Mags Howard, Gemma Adair, Sandy Jones, Julie Curtin, Coleen Ryan, Orla McCormack, Sarah Macken, Laura Shirram, Sinead Collins, Mary McAree, Ruth John, Aimee Curtin, Clare O Hare,

Ann Gleeson, Mariee O'Dwyer, Catherine Dwyer & Emma Fitzgerald, all of Tara Camogie Club, will all be part of the London squad that take on Limerick in the Munster Junior Championship semi-final at Ruislip on Saturday 25th June. Throw-in 12pm.
