Chiswick and Latymer Cricket Club remain in touch with the league leaders of Division 2A of the Thames Valley League after a thrilling draw at Whitton Park on Saturday. Chiswick batted first and Paul Davis top scored with 133 not out, setting Beaconsfield 314 to win in 46 overs in a rain shorten game. Despite 71 from Phil Swindle, the visitors were one run short at the end, Chiswick picking up 14 valuable points

Chiswick 2nd XI had a good win against Royal Ascot. Tight bowling, lead by Luke Redman who bowled right through the innings (3-62) restricted Royal Ascot to 151-5. A good team effort with the bat lead to a five wicket win, skipper Matti Watton top scoring with 43.

Chiswick and Latymer 3rd XI were well beaten by Newbury at Chiswick house, going down by 141 runs, while the 4th XI lost in the local derby at Kew, despite a fine 52 not out from skipper Matt Aggett.

Div 5B: Newbury 2nd XI 230 (Ian de Melville 76, R Plotz 3-34) Chiswick & Latymer 3rd X1 89 (Roan Plotz 35, James Bhatt 5-19) Newbury win by 141 runs.

Div 6B: Chiswick & Latymer 4th XI 151-8 (Matt Aggett 52*) Kew 3rd XI 157-6 Kew win by 4 wickets
