The Civil Service Sports Grounds are to be partially closed from September because not enough people are using it.

The move will save the Government £190,000 a year.

The CSSC is partially funded by heavily subsidised membership fees in order to keep Government employees healthy.

The club house, bar and bowling green are earmarked for closure, the tennis courts are be reduced from 17 to 6 and only two of the current four cricket squares will be maintained.
