PHC Chiswick entertained second placed Eastcote on Saturday at the Linford Christie Stadium in what could be a very important result at the end of the season.

Chiswick started nervously and struggled to hold onto to possession and went behind following a couple of weak tackles from the Chiswick defence.

This in turn spurned Chiswick into playing some more attractive hockey and they started to dominate the crucial areas of the pitch which forced Eastcote onto the back foot.

Following a number of good passing moves and winning a short corner Dharmesh Puna converted a well worked flick to level the scores.

Chiswick then continued to play some good attacking hockey and through another short corner went 2-1 up just before the half time break, again from a Darmesh Puna flick.

PHC started the second half well and controlled much of the possession playing some positive attacking hockey from which they earned a short corner following a well worked move down the right involving Mitch Jamaison and Tom Lemaire.

Following this corner and a well worked move Nayan Maken got a touch to continue his fine goal scoring run and put Chiswick 3-1 up mid-way through the 2nd half. Despite this Chiswick continued to play the better hockey though did have to endure some pressure and defend a number of short corners before Ashley Holman scored the goal of the game in the 65th minute to seal another valuable 3 points and a 4-1 victory.

Fine performances from Chiswick players include Martin King who is back from injury, Ashley Holman and Daniel Hall up front and Dan Loman in the midfield. Chiswick now go into a run of 3 games before Christmas which will be an important spell which they will be hoping to consolidate their place at the top of the table and start against West Hampstead this coming Saturday.
