Last Saturday’s Middlesex (Hockey) League’s Premier Division tie between Chiswick and Hendon, ended with Hendon as the victors after beating Chiswick by two goals.

Caroline Gaskin gave Hendon the lead five minutes before the break with a shot from an acute angle.

Hendon’s second goal arrived just after half-time – and was hotly disputed.

Cora Scowcroft’s free-hit took the faintest deflection off Sara Billingham’s stick and beat the Chiswick keeper. The umpires allowed the goal to stand against strong Chiswick protest.
