Old Meads win premiership
Full trophy
cabinet for local football team
The Old Meadonians first team squad clinched
their sixth trophy in three seasons when they took the Premiership
title of the newly formed Amateur Football Combination by drawing
3-3 with Old Albanians on Saturday at Riverside lands.
2001-2 and 2002-3 saw them winning ‘back to back’ Old Boys’ League
titles and for good measure adding their name to that of Ipswich
Town on the Amateur Football Alliance Senior Cup after beating Old
Actonians in the 2002 final.
Now they have cemented their claim to be listed among the elite
of the A.F.A. by placing the A.F.A. Middlesex Senior and the London
Old Boys’ Senior Cups alongside the first ever A.F.C. Trophy in
the The Riverside Club.
