Sports in Chiswick

There was cause for double celebration at Chiswick based Will to Win this week with the ladies winning 5-4 in the first round of the Middlesex Cup against Enfield Chase and the men opening their league campaign with an 18-6 victory over Thistleworth.

The ladies match was a very close fought affair but eventually Penny Armstrong, Peta Neilson, Kate Jude, Gunnel Russell, Sue Cole and Jill Erskine eased their way into the second round.

The men’s team gained promotion to division 4 last year so the 18-6 win against Thistleworth was a great start for the coming season. Nick Armstrong, Luke Rustad, Paul Vinnell, Marcus Barclay, Robert Marcantoni, and Phill Tait all won three out of four matches.

The Will to Win tennis centres run a series of box leagues over the year with over a 100 players regularly competing against similar standard of opponents. For full details call Robert Tower on 020 8994 1466.
