Yupa's Thai To Replace The Bedlington Cafe

The Bedlington Cafe, a family-owned business which served English breakfasts, tea, coffee and snacks by day and turned into a Thai restaurant and takeaway in the evenings, closed its door on Fauconberg Rd over the Christmas period to the disappointment of its many fans who enjoyed the no-frills but welcoming atmosphere and value for money.

However, popular High Road restaurant Yupa's Thai is taking over the premises , and hopes to open in the next few weeks.

Yupa's Thai has posted on its Facebook page that it will be reopening in January at its new premises at 24, Fauconberg Road, at what was the "longstanding and iconic local eatery Bedlington Cafe."

The premises is currently having a refurbishment and new kitchen installed.

Thai salads, curries, chef specials and wok-fried dishes are expected to be on the menu at its new Grove Park home.

Yupa's was based on Chiswick High Road, west of Acton Lane for several years, where it built a strong reputation among locals, after starting out doing the catering in the Old Packhorse.

Yupa's Thai closed last year, and it seemed as if other restaurants and shops in that parade were under threat due to a proposal to develop the area into residential housing. However, planning permission for . that development has been turned down- Rice continues to serve customers in Chiswick
