New boss takes charge at Chiswick Police Station

Inspector Ged Boyer was Ladbroke Grove crash hero

A new inspector has taken charge of the local police station. Inspector Ged Boyer has served on Hounslow Borough for the past two years. He took over from Inspector Mike Nicholls, who has now transferred to Heathrow Airport.

It will be a hard act to follow as Inspector Nicholl's time saw a fall in reported crime in Chiswick in contrast to rising crime in neighbouring areas. In addition many succesful initiatives such graffiti clean up days and car crime blitzes were launched.

Inspector Boyer said, " It is with great pleasure that I have taken over as Inspector for Chiswick Sector. I look forward to building on the good work of my predecessor Insp. Mike Nicholls and working closely with the local business and residential communities. “

He was awarded an Assistant Commissioner Commendation for his actions following the Ladbroke Grove rail crash in 1999. He directed the injured to safety and arranged for the use of a nearby school as a casualty reception centre, keeping the children away from the crash site.
