With Valentine's Day approaching it is perhaps appropriate that people's thoughts turn to romance. One local estate agent is even claiming that moving home can be akin to the moment when you meet that special person in your life.
Colette Browne of PropertyGarden.com told us, "Like falling in love, house purchase is often a mixture of the things you are looking for and the irrational you don’t understand. Knowing the surrounding area, some sound facts and figures assists the process."
Propertygarden.com is a new estate agency owned and completely staffed by local Chiswick residents from a background of property, sales management and lettings. They say being local gives them the necessary knowledge of the schools, the doctors, the builders which Propertygarden.com believes to be fundamental to good service.
They also offer a fixed fee of 0.75% max and have capped that at £7,000 + vat. When asked why they fixed and capped the fee they said it was because it takes just as long to sell a home as it does a flat.
On average it takes 8 weeks to sell a home and 17 viewings so if your home has been on the market for months – it’s either not being marketed properly or it’s priced incorrectly according to Colette.
