Further evidence of price retracement in the local area

The numbers released so far for the second quarter of the year are suggesting that finally the long predicted fall in property prices is starting to take effect. The average price was £536,945 which is well down on the level of £626,647 seen during the first quarter.
However, volumes of sales in the local area are so low at the moment that it is difficult to make precise conclusions about how the market has fallen. The extent of the fall might have as much to do with the mix of properties that were sold recently as a general decline in prices.
