Local house prices look set to achieve new highs

According to figures from the Land Registry the average sale price of a property in W4 since the beginning of June was £652,665.
This suggests that Chiswick property could be moving to new all time high levels. The highest ever quarterly average was just over £635,000 in the fourth quarter of 2007.
Since the beginning of June over 14 properties have changed hands for over £1 million in Chiswick.
Winkworth's Andrew Dunford said, "However, buyer's are cautious and will not pay unrealistic prices."
"The market has certainly seen an almost 2007 level of activity. Buyers' confidence has been at an all time high during the past quarter however due to the holiday season activity has certainly slowed in the last few weeks," said Oliver Finn's Christian Harper.
The July data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price increase of 6.7% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £166,798. The monthly change from June to July is an increase of 0.4%.
The region with the highest annual price change is London with an increase of 12.1%.
