Even in an area renowned for attracting the rich and famous our local royals, Prince Johannes and Princess Claudia von Auersperg, are having trouble finding someone to buy their Chiswick Mall home.

Their “superb five bedroomed detached Victorian double-fronted house presented in stunning condition throughout and boasts a secluded location'” as described by their current estate agents, has been on the market for over a year.

However, things are so bad for the Brazilian born prince and his Parisian wife that not only have they sliced £300,000 off the original asking price of £1.85 million, but Princess Claudia reportedly had to sell her tiara to pay for a new roof.

The Prince, who married Claudia Nilson in London in the late seventies, hails from one of Austria's most illustrious families whose name graces the Grand Palais Auersperg in Vienna.

Local independent estate agents Borthwicks have been forced to close their branch outside Turnham Green Tube due to the refurbishment project at the station.

Major construction work is to be carried out by London Underground which they claim will make the station 'the envy of the network'. This has necessitated the closure of this office until a suitable site for relocation of this office can be arranged.

All ongoing and future sales/lettings will be processed at their Chiswick Park Branch, which is located within the Chiswick Park Tube Station Complex.

A spokesman for Borthwick's said, "We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused to our customers and look forward to your continued support."
