The Primary Steps day nursery in Chiswick has recently been the recipient of a glowing OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) inspection report. The report, which is designed to ‘assure government, parents and the public of the quality and standard of day care’, found that the nursery performed consistently well on all criteria laid out in the National Standards, including personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, mathematics, knowledge and understanding, and physical and creative development.

Comments from the report include:
‘The environment is very warm, welcoming and child focused, staff greet the children with warmth and affection’.
‘Staff have excellent relationships with children. They adopt an active role in promoting children’s learning. The activities provided enhance and support children’s all round development and extend their language and thinking well’.
‘The children are interested in their activities, happy and contented to be in the nursery’.

David Alexander, Chief Executive of Primary Steps says: “Our day nursery in Chiswick is located in a unique setting at the heart of the Homefield Recreation Ground, off Chiswick Lane. We are very pleased with the results and look forward to providing consistently high standards of care to our children as we move forward.”

The Chiswick day nursery, located in a quaint wooden building, has the use of a large and magnificent garden where children enjoy the fresh air and engage in fun activities. It operates within the same education philosophy as all Primary Steps day nurseries, which is to encourage children to explore life within a happy, safe and secure environment. Primary Steps has a balanced approach to early learning with a curriculum that combines the teaching of basic literacy and numeracy with play and interaction between children.

Primary Steps in Chiswick is registered to provide care for 26 children aged from 2 to 5 years. The nursery opens Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 12 noon, all year round.
