A huge plume of smoke appeared in the sky in West London this afternoon (24th April) after a blaze struck a metal recycling centre on Scrubs Lane in Willesden.

The blaze could be clearly seen from Hammersmith, Shepherd's Bush and Chiswick.

London Fire Brigade report that a large amount of metal recycling waste in a storage yard is alight and that 30 firefighters are at the scene along with 8 fire engines.

There have been no reports of any injuries at this point.
