Sixth formers at Hammersmith’s Latymer Upper School have been celebrating today after achieving outstanding success in their A-level results.

Not a single one of the 169 Latymer students who received their results today failed any of their A-levels. In addition, nearly 87% (86.96%) of them passed all their exams with either an A or a B grade.

Latymer Upper’s Head, Peter Winter, says: “These results are an outstanding achievement and our boys and girls should be proud of what they have accomplished. The results are the best ever in our school’s long history, and I was especially pleased with our remarkable 100% pass rate, particularly as this year’s sixth form is the largest we have ever had. I am thrilled for our students and teachers and I congratulate them wholeheartedly.”

Latymer’s A-level results have been improving every year for the past six years. This year’s results, however, show the biggest improvement yet, with 86.96% of the pupils achieving grades between A-B (last year the equivalent figure was 79.27%).

One pupil, whose results today – three A-grades – have secured him a place at Bristol to read philosophy said, “It’s just phenomenal. I am so excited. This is one of the best days of my life.”
