Local history enthusiasts will be pleased to know that a commemorative walk will take place this Sunday 16th November.

Simon Marsh of the Battlefields Trust’s London & South East Chapter will lead an exploration of the key sites of the battles of Brentford and Turnham Green which took place over two days in November 1642.

It is an amazing story and Simon will explain how the citizens of London rallied to the Parliamentarian cause and halted the Royalist advance on London in the autumn of 1642.

Put on comfortable walking shoes and meet at Brentford Magistrates’ Court TW8 8EN, in the Market Place, at 10.30am for the Battle of Brentford, then after lunch, meet again at Chiswick Park Underground Station at 2pm.

For further information contact Simon on 01844 274112

The Brentford and Chiswick Local History Society worked with the Battlefields Trust to create a trail and 6 information panels so that you can explore the battlefields yourself. The trail leaflet and the information panels can be found on the Trust’s website here.
