Campaigners fighting to save Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital's A & E department are holding a public meeting tonight, February 5 at Rivercourt Church in King Street, Hammersmith from 7.30pm.

Hammersmith MP Andy Slaughter says: " I will be speaking at the meeting, along with Dr Louise Irvine, the Lewisham GP who spearheaded their successful anti-closure campaign.

" Also speaking will be Dr John Lister and Dr Chris McGurk. Dr Lister is a health journalist and campaigner who has worked very effectively with west London campaigners to counter pro-closure spin. Dr McGurk lives locally and works in a London A&E department.

" If you are still confused by the spin coming from the Department of Health and Hammersmith Town Hall, come and hear the facts.

" Hammersmith Hospital is set to lose its A&E this summer and Charing Cross all its major emergency services and half its site as soon as it can be redeveloped."
