f you’re a budding ‘Alan Titchmarsh’, you have a golden opportunity to give you garden a blooming boost by picking up some FREE compost at the council’s compost giveaway day this Saturday (27 April).

Councillor Colin Ellar , cabinet member for environment, said: “With the weather turning warmer and spring finally sprung, this is a great time to get out into your garden. And to make it blooming lovely, give it a helping hand with some free council compost.”

Even if you don’t have a garden, compost is great to help your soil in a window box too.

Compost helps to improve soil structure and has everything plants need to help them grow, as well as being good for the environment.

You can collect up to four free bags of compost at Hounslow Heath Nature Reserve car park in Frampton Road, Hounslow, TW4 5RB from 10am-2pm.

Please bring a shovel and some containers, bags, boxes or whatever you can find to take your compost home.

And if you’re a Hounslow resident, you can also sign up to the official launch of the Re-ward Club – the incentive scheme that rewards you for not buying new.
