|Hounslow Council Condemns Terror Attacks|
Thousands of people in the borough have links to Pakistan and Australia
Leader of Hounslow Council, Cllr Steve Curran has expressed the borough’s solidarity with Pakistan and Australia following the terror attacks.
Nearly 150 people, nearly all of them children, were killed in Pakistan during a Taliban attack on a military school in Peshawar (Dec 16). The previous day, two civilians and the gunman were killed when police stormed a cafe in Sydney, Australia, which was under siege.
Cllr Steve Curran said: 'As a borough with a significant population from the Commonwealth, I would like to send on behalf of Hounslow our heartfelt condolences to the people of Pakistan and Australia and any of the victims’ relatives living in the borough.
'We stand shoulder to shoulder with them at this tragic time.
It is believed there are several thousand people with links to Pakistan across the borough, while there several hundred residents with links to Australia.
