Santa took the infamous Polar Express to Buttercups Nursery in Homefields last Friday, in order to raise money for Neuroblastoma UK.

Neuroblastoma is the third most common childhood cancer, with nearly 100 children being diagnosed every year. The charity, Neuroblastoma UK, funds vital research, committed to finding a cure for this disease which strikes down the most vulnerable.

Local girls and boys who came along on Friday started their adventure by spotting Santa's missing reindeer as they ventured through the enchanted mini forest. The forest is usually home to Buttercups Homefields Forest School but was given a festive make-over for the occasion. At the end of the trail, the children were greeted by one of Santa's most trusted elves and led into the magical grotto to meet the big man himself. Santa was very interested in how naughty or nice the children have been this year, and one child confessed to being quite naughty! I think he has been forgiven and was still given a special gift.

Much fun was had by all and lots of generous donations made by the parents and carers.

Buttercups hopes to be able to host this esteemed visitor from the North Pole again next year!
