We are delighted to be showing work by twenty talented artists in Necessities of Life. There is an interesting rapport between the Japanese and Western aesthetic in the interpretation of functional pieces - meeting somewhere in the middle with the work of Edward Hughes.

The show includes tableware and silver cutlery, glass, furniture, candelabra and lights. Books are here to encourage study of the decorative arts. In the garden which is to be photographed for the occasion by House and Garden, many hand thrown terracotta pots will be planted up and available for you to take home and enjoy.
Beyond the lilac there are moon jars by Adam Buick, Svend Bayer’s amphorae and striking abstract sculpture by James Oughtibridge who as well as Akiko Hirai is showing here for the first time.

Historic work from Michael and Seth Cardew , Danlami Aliyu and Joanna Constantinidis complete this tapestry of fine and collectable pieces. We do hope you will be able to come and see this work and be inspired by it.

Look forward to welcoming you!
With best wishes,

Joanna and team
