Offering classic and contemporary styles as well as pampering hair treatments The Chiswick Salon opened its doors this week on Grove Park's Fauconberg Road.

The busy career woman, the frazzled mum and her children can all relax in a calm atmosphere of muted colours combined with touches of luxury such as magazines and complementary drinks.

Children are welcome in the special mini-salon which has a clean, safe specially-designed child-friendly environment including colourful chairs, a toy box, books, children's DVD's, crayons and paper.

Owner Vicki Goymer has been a hairdresser for over 20 years and has worked in many of Covent Garden’s flagship salons including: Charles Worthington; Wella and Saks.

Familiar to many Chiswick residents through her home visit hairdressing service (‘haircuts for mummies’), Vicki decided to open up her own salon when a unit on Fauconberg Parade became vacant earlier this year.

“I live just around the corner and love Chiswick and being part of the community in Grove Park so when the opportunity came up I decided I had to open my new hair salon in the area.”

“We want to offer a friendly, personal service so an initial consultation will take into account a client’s face shape, colouring, hair type and individual style to create a look that works perfectly, fitting into the clients lifestyle,” she adds.

In contrast to Chiswick High Road, parking near the Salon is easy and free and the salon is easily accessible from Chiswick mainline railway station and two minutes’ walk from regular bus services including the E3 route to Turnham Green underground station.

“Fauconberg Parade also contains a variety of other shops, bars and restaurants so a trip to the Salon can be combined with a drink, meal or picking up the groceries,” emphasises Goymer. “It is also in close proximity to both Falcons’ School for Boys, Grove Park and Strand-on-the-Green schools for fitting a visit around the daily run.”

The Salon features products from Wella System Professional and visitors will also find samples of products and contact details for a variety of treatments and well-being services and practitioners associated with the Salon.

A cut and finish at the Salon is priced from £40 with a blow dry from £20. A full head of colour costs £50, whilst fringe trims between cuts are free to existing clients. Boy’s and girl’s hair is £10 for under tens and £15 for over tens, with baby’s hair up to the age of three from £5.

The Salon is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm during the week with late night opening on Thursday and Friday and from 9.30am to 4.00pm on Saturday.

The mini-salon is open from 3.00pm to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and from 9.30am to 12.00pm on Saturday.
