All classes are run on a drop in basis (except for acting and theatre directing - which are termly enrolment). There is no membership fee. Classes cost between £6.00-8.00 and go down in price if you purchase books of 10 tickets which can be used at any time.

About the Classes

Acting for Adults Tuesdays 7.30pm-9.30pm Termly Enrolment Cost £190.00 Liven up those Autumn evenings with dramatic explorations. Beginners can take first steps, old stagers can brush off the rust and go further. We will start with some theatre games and improvisation and then we will investigate creating characters and their relationship to each other. Finally, we will find out how words are ‘lifted’ off the page and into credible life (try listening to the dialogue in a ‘soap’ and imagine it just as words on a script !). We will ‘stage’ some scenes. Somewhere along the way we might decide to go and watch/listen to professionals in action and try and work out how they do it !

CTA are delighted that Mark Woolgar will be joining our team. Mark has directed hundreds of plays and was the Resident Director of the Derby Playhouse for 7 years and was head of the Post Graduate course at The Guildford School of Acting for 7 years.

About Zumba

Zumba is a dance fitness class based on Latin American Rhythms. Forget the Fitness class and come and join the dance party! Come and join me and you’ll see what I mean. You don’t even have to know how to dance. Just move your body and follow my lead. It’s easy! Like exercise in disguise! You’ll probably lose weight too! I have! Zumba was created in the mid 1990’s by Columbian native Alberto ‘Beto’ Perez, a celebrity fitness trainer and choreographer for international pop superstars. Inspired by the traditional cumbia, salsa, sambe, merengue music he grew up with, Beto paired his favourite pulsating Latin rhythms with the red-hop international dance steps his clients loved and Zumba (Spanish slang to move fast and have fun) was born. Since Beto bought Zumba to the US in 1999, it has become one of the fastest growing dance based fitness crazes worldwide with people of all ages falling in love with its infectious music and easy to follow dance. Over 7 million people a week attend a Zumba class. Come along and join the fun! Classes will be held throughout the week including 9.30am on Mondays mornings! What a way to start the week!!

We will be adding Yoga, Pilates, Step classes etc to the Fitness timetable.
