Traditional Italian gelato brand Amorino is coming to Chiswick, having signed a new lease at 286 Chiswick High Road, adjacent to Gail’s.

Local agent and surveying firm Whitman Commercial structured the letting deal, which involved previous tenant Manor Springs Organic surrendering their lease to the landlord, who then granted a new lease.

Chiswick already has gelato ice cream available at speciality shops, Foubert's, Oddono's and Duci.

Amorino is a French multinational chain of gelato boutiques headquartered outside of Paris, France. The first boutique opened on Île Saint-Louis in 2002 and offers customers gelato and sorbetto made according to Italian tradition.

The company was created in 2002 by two childhood friends, Christiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi, and has over 150 branches worldwide, including branches in central London and throughout the UK. The closest stores to Chiswick are at Richmond-Upon-Thames and Ealing Broadway.

Amorino is known for its signature cones with the gelato shaped like a rose, often with macarons added. Its menu also includes waffles, pancakes, frozen desserts and ice-cream cakes. New flavours for the summer include combinations such as mascarpone and fig gelato, or lemon verbena sorbet.

Jeremy Day of Whitman Commercial confirmed “I am very pleased to be welcoming Amorino to Chiswick. It is a vote of great confidence in Chiswick that high-quality brands like Amorino are investing in our High Road and I’m sure Amorino’s organic, vegan and gluten-free product range will prove to be extremely popular here!”

Amorino hope to open in mid-July, so locals won’t have too long to wait.

Manor Springs, a UK-based distributor of organic and natural foods, took over the site that was briefly occupied by Hush Hush café (next to Gail’s Bakery) in July 2021.

Amorino were advised by Stirling Shaw of Richmond.
