Lombok, the furniture retailer specialising in designs from South East Asia, has closed its Chiswick store as the company ponders its future.

Established over ten years ago, the name derives from an Indonesian island and their handmade furniture and homeware had a loyal following but economic conditions which have seen the failure of major brands such as Habitat, have brought them to the brink of administration.

They have also closed their shops in Wimbledon and Chelsea’s Kings Road.

The company will continue to process outstanding orders from the stores.

A Lombok spokesperson said, “Lombok is exploring all options as part of its restructuring and fully intends the Lombok brand to continue trading with a focus on its successful online offering and key flagship stores.”
