First New High Street Bank in 150 Years to Open in Chiswick

Metro Bank ‘store’ set to open seven days a week on the High Road

A branch of Britain's first new high street bank in over 150 years is set to open in Chiswick.

Launched earlier this year, Metro Bank are planning to open a new 'store' on Chiswick High Road in 2012.

According to Metro Bank, they plan to introduce customers to 'unparalleled levels of service and convenience'. Open seven days a week from early to late, this unique retail banking model, created by Metro Bank's founder Vernon W. Hill, has revolutionised banking in the United States.

The first two Metro Bank stores opened at One Southampton Row, Holborn and on the corner of Cromwell Road and Earls Court Road in South Kensington with Fulham Broadway and Borehamwood, Hertfordshire following soon after. Metro Bank intends to build a network of more than 200 stores in Greater London over the next 10 years.

Amongst their list of unique selling points includes the fact that a friendly welcome to dogs and their owners, with water bowls and dog biscuits on hand for man’s best friend - 'dogs rule at Metro Bank' apparently.
