The rest of the High Road may be going green with eco friendly shops and restaurants but Woolworths has bucked the trend by going canary yellow.

The Chiswick branch has been "Simpsonised" to promote The Simpsons Movie which was released on Monday 10th.

Life-size versions of Bart and Homer appeared in the window, along with meeters and greeters dressed as the characters in store. Even the Os in the Woolworths sign will be replaced by Homer's favourite doughnuts.

Woolworths enlisted the help of Simpsons creator Matt Groening to help boost sales of the DVD with an unusual addition to the world-famous Simpson household.

According to industry magazine Retail Week, Groening's team has drawn Woolworths brand characters Wooly & Worth sitting in the Simpsons' front room, on the sofa normally occupied by Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, for an ad campaign set to launch next week. It is the first time the cartoonists have drawn for any retailer.
