Ad - The perfect start to your rowing journey!
Have you always watched rowers on the Thames gliding along and wanted to give it a go? Now is your chance: Quintin Boat Club is running a series of Learn to Row courses starting this February. The course will focus rigorously on proper sculling technique and will include a mix of on-the-water and land training sessions to achieve this aim. All participants will build a solid foundation on which they can progress toward becoming a confident recreational rower or toward earning a spot in one of our club’s racing crews. Our goal is to get you on the water as soon as safely possible! Participants will scull on our beautiful stretch of the Thames in quads (four people to a boat, two blades/oars each). Coaches Simon Hunt brings head coaching experience from numerous clubs. Simon has coached Masters at three different clubs on the Tideway. While coaching, Simon is also an active racer, competing in his single, eights and all boat classes in between. Jackie has been on the water since 1992 as a competitor taking part in Internationals, Commonwealth, World Cups and was in the qualifying squad for the Olympics. She now coaches novices to competition level and racing crews. Elliott is a British Rowing qualified coach with a ten-year rowing career that included GB team selection, national championships, and the Boat Race. Elliott has spent the last three years coaching. Working with Learn to Row, junior, and masters athletes, he enjoys making rowing accessible, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone.
