STAVELEY GARDENS RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION AGM 2001

Brief report on AGM held 24th April 2001

The meeting was well attended, with 32 residents and 6 invited guests from Hounslow Council and the local Police station.

The guests were:
Cllr Felicity Barwood
Sgt Simon Squance - Chiswick Police Station
Susan Pathak - Team Leader, Chiswick Housing Team
Eileen Gladwell - Tenant Participation Officer, Brentford & Chiswick Housing
Kevin Farrell - Estate Manager, Housing
Marlene Heron - First Call Housing Consultants Ltd

The guests each gave a short description of the work they do in relation to the estate, and then answered questions put to them by the residents. Many of the questions were answered with promises by officials to carry out immediate action, or to investigate and report back to the Association.

First Call Housing Consultants are about to carry out a detailed study of the estate to identify problems raised by residents. This will begin with a door-to-door survey, starting in about one month's time. Nobody will call until each resident has been sent a letter to say the survey is about to start.

A new Committee was elected, with Ross Pont taking over from Carolyn Courage as Chair. There are currently 11 Committee Members, which is not really enough people to carry out all the work that the residents would like to be done. Tenants are particularly under-represented.

If anyone else feels able to offer some help to the Committee, they would be extremely welcome - new members can be added to the Committee at any time during the year.

Future meetings of the Residents Association will be at the Chiswick Tennis Club, Burlington Lane at 7.30pm on the following Mondays:

16th July
17th September
19th November
18th February
