The Addison Singers Classical Choirs' 'Sweet Summer Songs'

This year’s summer concert from The Addison Singers Classical Choirs will present a wide variety of choral music encompassing songs, part-songs and madrigals.
The programme includes Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs, John Rutter’s Birthday Madrigals, Gustav Holst’s Six Choral Folksongs, and more.
The choirs’ Music Director Matthew Thomas Morgan will conduct with Deputy Music Director Matthew Hough on piano.
The concert takes place on Saturday 12 July at 7.30pm at St Michael & All Angels, Bath Rd, Chiswick.
Tickets can be purchased online for £18 or £3 plus booking fee or on the door for £20, and £5 for under 16s.
Matthew Thomas Morgan says, “Our exploration will allow us to consider mysticism, romanticism and other styles besides, whilst appreciating the wide variety of locations in which each story is set. Our musical journey will also take us from the sixteenth century right through to the twenty-first, featuring both classical and light-jazz choral works. We hope you can join us for what promises to be an exciting summer’s evening.”

New members are always welcome to join the Addison Group of Singers, which is made up of three different singing classes and four different choirs for singers of all ages, abilities and musical interests. It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director since 1995. Matthew Thomas Morgan was appointed Music Director, Classical at the beginning of 2023 to conduct the Chamber Choir and Oratorio Choir.
The Addison Singers comprises two classical choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz choirs – an auditioned Jazz Ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-female Jazz Choir. It also offers three different singing classes to meet the needs of beginners, intermediate and the more competent, experienced singer.
