Waterstone's on Chiswick High Road will host a Christmas event featuring local authors on Saturday, December 1st from 4.45pm- 7:00pm.

The event is free for all to attend and wine and nibbles will be available. The Chiswick and Bedford Park Preparatory School Choir will open the event at 4.45 with festive carols. Conducted by the school's Musical Director, Natalie Simons, (Best Choral Conductor of 2012 at Ealing Festival), the 44 enthusiastic girls aged between 7-11, will sing for 30 minutes from a repertoire including ' A Winter's Tale', 'Zither Carol', 'the Holly and the Ivy' and other favourites.

The choir will be collecting for Musequality, a Chiswick charity whch supports communal music-making for disadvantaged children in developing countries.

The carol singing will be followed by the local author's talks. The panel includes; Roland Curram 'The Problem with Happiness'; Michael Dale, 'Rude Awakening'; Val Bott, ‘Hogarth’s House’; a talk with D W Budworth discussing ‘Jonathan Carr’s Bedford Park’; and a final event at 6.30pm with Torin Douglas interviewing Peter Gorle, 'Quiet Gunner at War' an account of his father's war experiences.
