Crosslight Chiswick Marks Ten Years of Debt Advice |

Local branch of charity is based in St. Nicholas Church
February 20, 2026 Crosslight Chiswick, the local branch of the debt-advice charity Crosslight Advice, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month, marking a decade of supporting residents facing financial hardship. The branch, based at St Nicholas Church in Chiswick, held its first client appointments in February 2016 and has since worked with hundreds of people to help them regain financial stability and peace of mind. The Chiswick branch has grown steadily over the past decade. It is now supported financially by the Chiswick Money Advice Centre, a stand-alone charity with trustees drawn from the church community. Additional support has come from Hounslow Deanery Welcare and St Michael and All Angels Church, enabling the service to expand its reach. St Nicholas Church continues to play a central role, hosting Crosslight’s face-to-face appointments in its parish hall and providing volunteers who help run the service. With part-funding from Hounslow Council, Crosslight Chiswick has significantly increased its capacity in recent years, allowing it to support more residents struggling with debt, rising living costs and financial uncertainty. Crosslight Advice is an independent charity offering free, confidential debt advice, money education and practical support. Working in partnership with churches, it now operates branches in Chiswick, Hammersmith, South Kensington and Twickenham, providing long-term guidance to people from all backgrounds. Over its ten years in Chiswick, the charity has also contributed to the wider life of St Nicholas Church, taking part in community events, hosting information sessions on budgeting and financial wellbeing, and collaborating with local groups to raise awareness of debt issues. Volunteers say these activities have helped reduce stigma around financial difficulty and encouraged more people to seek help early. Anyone in need of support can contact Crosslight Chiswick on 020 7052 0318 or email info@crosslightadvice.org to book an appointment. Donations to support the charity’s work can be made here.
