Chiswick's Christmas lights will have an extra sparkle when they are switched on next Thursday (November 24th). The lights, which are sponsored by Fuller's, have been refurbished and LED bulbs installed to give a brighter sheen.

Richard Fuller, one of the company directors will perform the official switch-on shortly after 6 p.m. outside the George IV on Chiswick High Road and the brewery will have two drayhorses and cart in the car- park, to give a traditional Christmas feel.

The event will start with carols sung by pupils from St. Mary's School and members of Hounslow Council will also be in attendance. There will be plenty of beer and mulled wine to purchase to get people into the spirit.

Council workers have already installed the lights, ready for the switch-on, and they will stretch from Chiswick Lane to Acton Lane and down along Turnham Green Terrace.

Lights will also be placed in the trees in Devonshire Road, and all lamp-posts will be decorated along the High Road and four cross-streets. The lights will stay on until early January.

Tech Music School are providing the PA system.
