Great Chertsey Road (A316) closed this evening

A serious accident has caused severe traffic problems this evening with the A316 being closed between Hartington Road and the Hogarth Roundabout in both directions.

There are unconfirmed reports of a pedestrian having been hit by a truck and emergency services are at the scene.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible.
