Just a couple of days after his stunning triumph in the US Open Rory McIlroy was standing in the middle of a lake trying to hit a gong at the behest of Chiswick based duo Ant and Dec.

The 22 year old Ulsterman was taking in part in their new show 'Red or Black' and was once again up against Lee Westwood in the Golf Gong challenge.

Arriving at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire, the golfing superstars had to hit a gong just over 100 yards away in the middle of a lake, in order to win for their respective red or black contestants. Although Rory may have previously given the impression he could walk on water a platform was provided for him to play his shots.

And huge golf enthusiasts Ant & Dec could barely wait for the famous pair to tee off.

"We've been looking forward to today," Ant beamed. "Not only does it feature a game we'd love to have a go at, but we also got to meet two of our golfing heroes!"

Dec was equally excited about our Golf Gong guests. He said, "It was great watching the US Open on TV," he said. "But it was nothing compared to the drama of seeing these two golfing greats knocking balls at the Red or Black? gong in the middle of the lake at Eastnor Castle."

Red or Black is due to be broadcast by ITV in the Autumn. One competitor will have the chance to win a million pounds.
