Star put in headlock and mother pushed over outside Station House
‘I’m a Celebrity’ host, Ant McPartlin has been assaulted during an evening out with his mum and his aunt in Chiswick. According to a report in the Sun newspaper he was eating in the Station House in Grove Park near his home when a group in hoodies started hassling him. They were banging on the window of the pub and taking photos of him. When he went outside to remonstrate with them he was reportedly grabbed around the neck by one of the group and his mother Christine, 58, was pushed to the ground. The incident occurred on Thursday 13th March. The police attended but the group responsible had left the scene. The Sun reports an eye-witness as saying, ‘The youths were banging on the window, filming them and generally being a pain — and they just wouldn’t let it lie. Ant was completely reasonable and said, “Leave it out, lads, I’m just having a quiet meal.” But it immediately turned really nasty and one of them jumped on him and put him in a head-lock.’ A Scotland Yard spokesman said, ‘At 8.13pm on Thursday March 13 there were reports of an assault in Spencer Road, Chiswick. Police attended but no allegation was made and no one suffered any notable injuries.’ Ant was the subject of another unprovoked attack in the Barley Mow pub on Chiswick High Road in 2011 when he was punched in the face by Ross Hamilton whilst watching a football match.
