Television presenter moves with wife Ingrid Oliver to Richmond
January 28, 2026 The long-rumoured departure of Richard Osman from Chiswick has now been confirmed with the national newspapers reporting that he has completed a purchase of a large house in Richmond. The bestselling author and television presenter, who was a popular local figure and regularly spotted on the High Road or the 94 bus, has bought a new home with his wife Ingrid Oliver, variously described as costing £8 or £9million and on Richmond Hill or by the Thames. He had previously given a broad hint on his podcast, The Rest is Entertainment, that a move was in the offing and had described how he felt ‘discombobulated’ by the upheaval. It is widely believed that the huge success of his Thursday Murder Club series and the Netflix films based on the books, has enabled him to move to a four-storey, five-bedroom property which is being described in the papers as having a traditional exterior but a fully modernised interior. Although, Chiswick is not short on well known names Richard and Ingrid’s new neighbours could include Sir David Attenborough, Sir Mick Jagger and Zendaya. Born in Billericay in Essex, Richard grew up in Haywards Heath and had lived in Chiswick for over 20 years. He revealed that he was a fan of ChiswickW4.com while talking to Marina Hyde last year. With Ant McPartlin departing in 2019 and Clare Balding announcing her intention to move elsewhere last year, Chiswick’s stock of celebs appears to be diminishing.
