A 45-year-old man from Chiswick has appeared in court in Oxford charged with involvement in a raid on a Sainsbury Local in Henley-on-Thames.

Scott Webb of Grove Park Road was arrested along with 38-year-old Alex Barrow of Bracknell after Thames Valley Police stopped a car in which they were travelling in the early hours of Tuesday morning (13 February). The police say they found stolen alcohol in the car as well as weapons.

They allege that the two men were responsible for a burglary that took place a short time earlier at around 2.45am at the store on Bell Street.

The two men were remanded in custody and appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where they were further remanded and are now due to appear at Oxford Crown Court on 15 March.
