Fuller, Smith & Turner is delighted to once again be supporting the Chiswick House Opera.

To celebrate, Chiswick's world-famous brewer is offering ChiswickW4.com members the chance to win two tickets to this year's performance of The Barber of Seville on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7.30pm.

To win, just answer the following question:

The first performance of The Barber of Seville took place in 1816, but what year in the same century was the partnership of Fuller, Smith & Turner created?

Please email your answer to editor@chiswickw4.com by midday on Wednesday 24th June.

The Barber of Seville is a gloriously sunny comedy and the ultimate summer evening opera, perfectly suited to the stunning location of Chiswick House Grounds which were designed by the third Earl of Burlington (1694-1753), who drew inspiration from his ‘grand tours’ of Italy to create this elegant classical villa.

Diane Treganowan, this year’s Opera Chair explains, “The summer opera is one of the Friends’ key fundraising events, last year raising a record-breaking £17,000 which helps the Friends’ many projects that support the restoration and improvement of Chiswick House and its gardens. We are aiming to raise more than last year with many new opportunities for local businesses to support the event.”
