Ludo, the well-travelled Chiswick cat who won the Golden Wizard Book Prize in 2025 for Ludo and Lulu Go to Town, has published his first solo book, Wisdom & Whiskers x. The new collection sees Ludo swap the passenger seat of his sister Lulu’s green car for a writing desk as he reflects on a year of chestnut rolling, picnics in Richmond Park and quiet observations from his favourite windowsill.
The book gathers short, “mews-ings” about friendship, curiosity and the art of slowing down. Ludo’s voice remains playful and wise in equal measure, inviting readers of all ages to savour small moments and rediscover everyday kindness. The tone is deliberately tender: chapters range from light-hearted takes on garden visitors to more reflective passages about seasonal change.
Angela Wallace, Ludo’s ‘human‘ who may have assisted in some measure with the writing, says. “Always wrapped snugly in his signature brown scarf, he takes careful note of everything he encounters — from garden visitors to the changing seasons, and even the world glimpsed from his favourite windowsill”. She adds that after the success of the first title, it seemed fitting to give Ludo’s thoughts “a proper place on the page.”
