Mary McLeod, local MP, gave the following message to her constituents as the year draws to its festive close.

This has been an incredibly busy year and I feel fortunate to have been able to spend so much time meeting with local people, schools and businesses. In what has been a challenging time for many across the country I have been proud of the achievements of people in Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth and Hounslow. Just this month alone we have seen excellent school results in English and Maths for Primary School pupils, West Middlesex Hospital has been rated as the ‘Most Baby Friendly Hospital in London’ and we have welcomed several new businesses to the area.

Christmas is a time for family and my thoughts go out to all of those who are away from their loved ones over this festive period, especially those in the armed forces. Last month I met with our troops on a visit to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, their bravery, loyalty and spirit is humbling

Finally I would like to thank all of those who have written to or emailed me this year. Since becoming your MP just over a year and a half ago I have helped with nearly 7,000 residents who have contacted me for assistance. I look forward to continue working for you in the constituency and representing you in Parliament in the year ahead.

I wish everyone in Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Osterley and Hounslow a very Happy Christmas.
