Neighbours unhappy about the scale and type of St Margaret's development
Plans submitted by Shepherd's Bush Housing Association to convert a Sutton Court Road property into 26 self-contained bedsits has been met with dismay by surrounding neighbours. If approved by Hounslow Council, St Margaret's House will provide supported housing for young people between the ages of 16 and 21 as well as office space and training facilities. Young people, who can remain the accommodation for up to eight weeks, are encouraged to develop essential skills to maintain a home and look for employment. A number of Chiswick residents have objected to the scheme saying that the scale of the development is too large for the site. Others are concerned that this will be the third shelter accommodation facility in the immediate area. Design and access statement NB. opens a large .pdf file. Comment on the application here.
