After an exceptionally busy start to 2014 with 21 incidents and 17 people rescued from the river in the first three weeks, supporters and crews from Chiswick RNLI Lifeboat will be running another comedy night for Chiswick Lifeboat on Thursday 6 February 2014.

There will also be a raffle drawn on the night with many generous prizes from leading local restaurants and shops. The special Headliners night will be at The George IV pub in Chiswick High Road. The team say the last two were great fun at a gloomy time of year, everyone had a great time and raised significant sums for an essential service entirely supported by voluntary donations.

Tickets £12, doors open 7:30pm, start 8pm.

Tickets can be reserved by email to media@chiswicklifeboat.org.uk

The 21 incidents involved a number of rowers capsizing and getting into difficulties as well as individuals accidentally or deliberately ending up in the river. Exceptionally strong currents resulting from the high rainfall in recent weeks are thought to have been a contributory factor in some of the incidents.

Chiswick RNLI Lifeboat is the second busiest in the UK and Ireland; since starting service in 2002, has attended over 2400 incidents and rescued over 1200 people.
