Stix Mindfulness a finalist in competition to win TV advertising
July 8, 2025 Stix Mindfulness, a mental wellbeing start-up based in Chiswick, has been named a finalist in the Small Business, Big Break competition. The initiative, supported by Constant Contact in partnership with Enterprise Nation and Channel 4, seeks to spotlight some of the UK's most promising small businesses, offering them the chance to appear on national television. Founded by Liam Murphy in response to his younger brother’s struggles with mental health, Stix Mindfulness develops interactive tools designed to support the emotional wellbeing of primary school-aged children. Its core product pairs handheld remotes with guided audio activities, helping children to manage emotions, build focus, increase confidence, and improve sleep. As one of eight finalists, Stix will take part in a competitive pitching event where participants will present their business to a panel of judges. Among those on the panel is entrepreneur and former Dragons' Den investor Piers Linney, alongside Constant Contact CEO Frank Vella, UK General Manager Erika Robinson, and Enterprise Nation COO Polly Dhaliwal. The competition will award three of the finalists with advertising and marketing support packages valued at over £300,000. These include a prime-time TV campaign broadcast to audiences across the UK. Liam Murphy, reflecting on Stix’s progress to date, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised in a competition that champions small businesses. Stix began as a project to support my younger brother, and to now be considered for a national TV campaign is incredible. We’ve already seen the difference Stix can make in children’s lives, and this opportunity could help us reach thousands more families who need support.” Commenting on the announcement, Erika Robinson said, “With SMEs representing over 99 per cent of the business population in the UK, it is vital to help them get the brand recognition that they deserve.” She added that the quality of entries had been impressive and expressed anticipation for the finalists’ presentations. Aaron Asadi, CEO of Enterprise Nation, said the event offered businesses “an unprecedented opportunity to showcase their potential” and described the chance to run a TV campaign as a significant milestone. The winners of the competition will be selected following the pitch event, which will be evaluated by the judging panel. To find out more about Stix Mindfulness visit the company's website.
