With games, camp fire and pumpkin themed refreshments to help keep warm
On Saturday 30th October from 4pm until 7pm the Trust will be hosting a Family Pumpkin Party in the Walled Garden at Chiswick House– a spooky fun-filled evening for all the family. Get dressed up in fancy dress (anything to do with pumpkins, from Halloween to Cinderella) and bring along a carved pumpkin that can be lit up and displayed. There are prizes for the best carved pumpkin and the best fancy dress! “There will be games and a camp fire plus pumpkin themed refreshments to keep us warm, not to mention our performing ‘Red Barrows’ in action as they create a special display for you.” says Chiswick House and Gardens Trust organiser Karen Roberts. As the sun goes down and the Gardens close Family Pumpkin Party goers will have the Conservatory to themselves to see their pumpkins glowing in the dark. “If we’re lucky”, says Karen, “we might even see a bat or two! “ This is also a great chance to see a wonderful array of plump pumpkins and squashes – planted by schoolchildren and growing in the walled garden as part of the Chiswick House Kitchen Garden Project. Advice will also be on hand as to how to cook these delicious vegetables. Tickets are £10 for adults which includes entry for two children and £5 for additional children (inclusive of themed refreshments) and can be purchased on line via www.chgt.org.uk. or from Chiswick House (Sun-Wed). Numbers are limited, so get your tickets soon! The Walled Garden will open at 4pm – entry through the back of the Conservatory. October 28, 2010 |
