A chance to see inside the world famous Power House complex
Online retailers Headroom are to hold a consumer electronics show at Metropolis Studios in London. This portable and digital audio show is to take place over Friday the 30th and Saturday the 31st of January. As well as getting a chance to experience all kinds of new developments in the headphone and amplifier industry, Metropolis will also give visitors a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of one of Europe’s leading establishments for recording, mixing, and mastering, and staff will be on hand to give an insight to what happens during a recording or mastering session. Headroom promises to give attendees the opportunity to experience over 35 of the world’s premium audio products. Brands already confirmed include Sennheiser, Audeze, Chord Electronics, Bang & Olufsen, Shure, Audioquest, STAX, HiFiMan, Audio Technica, ADL, Fostex, Light Harmonic, Yamaha, Pioneer, Resonessence and many more. Headroom claims to be the world’s largest online store for headphones, amplifiers, and digital-to-analogue converters (DAC). Headroom has expanded its business from just retail however, as the company now conducts performance measurements and technical analysis of its products. Metropolis Studios will provide the ideal setting for the event. Based in the historic Power House complex in Chiswick, Metropolis has the capacity but also the personality to make the event a memorable one. Sponsoring the event is Tidal, the first high-fidelity lossless music streaming service. Each attendee of the show will be given a free, 30-day trial of the service, which is otherwise worth £20 in monthly subscription. Show-goers need only sign up, enter in their code, and enjoy unlimited CD-quality streaming for 30 days. Working in partnership, Headroom and Metropolis hope to put on a show that will demonstrate the wide range of new and exciting products the portable and digital audio market has to offer while retaining focus.
