Songs for Christmas features collaboration with Belmont School
The Hogarth Singers returns this December with its Songs for Christmas concert — a joyful evening of seasonal music, community spirit, and mince pies. This year’s concert features a special collaboration with the Belmont Primary School Choir, adding youthful energy and charm to the evening’s programme. Audiences can expect a rich mix of familiar carols and lesser-known seasonal gems, with plenty of opportunities to sing along. The event takes place on Saturday 13 December at 6pm at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bath Road, Chiswick (W4 1TT). Under the direction of Musical Director Rupert Gill, and accompanied by Andrew Wells, the Hogarth Singers promise an uplifting and inclusive celebration of Christmas through music. Tickets cost £12 (includes mince pies and refreshments) and children under 16 go free. Book online at hogarthsingers.uk or call 07341 413884. Doors open at 5:30pm. Founded in the early 1980s as an offshoot of IBM’s Meistersingers choir, the Hogarth Singers have grown into one of Chiswick’s most respected chamber choirs. Now a registered charity, the group is dedicated to promoting choral music and public education in the art and science of music. With a membership of around 50–60 singers, the choir performs a wide repertoire of sacred and secular works, from Renaissance motets to contemporary compositions. The choir rehearses weekly at St Michael and All Angels Church and typically presents three concerts each year, alongside social events and occasional outreach performances. The atmosphere is described as friendly and inclusive, with no formal audition required, though new members are invited to sing for the Music Director. The choir particularly welcomes younger singers and offers discounted rates for under-25s and new tenors and basses.
